Christmas

Christmas is coming very soon and many Americans are spending lot of money! Christmas is a very big holiday in America. It is bigger than New Years! Almost everyone in America celebrates Christmas.

Do you know the story of Christmas? December 25 is when Jesus Christ was born, so Christmas is like a big birthday party! Many people who are not Christians celebrate Christmas as a time to spend with their families. Almost everyone has a Christmas tree in their home. I have a mini tree in my apartment!! Another part of Christmas is the presents. It is to represent the presents that were given to Jesus when he was born. But now in America, most people don't think about Jesus or family, they just think about the presents. It's very sad. Many people will give someone a present just to give them something and they may not even want it. It sounds very nice to give someone a present, but it's sad because most people don't take the time to find gifts their family or friends actually would like. Many people feel obligated to give something

For most of my family, I don't give or receive presents. I don't have very much money but also because I don't like to buy things they may not like. So instead I make food for my family, and bring desserts to share! That way I can show that I care about my family without buying them something they will not use. For my boyfriend and my mom I like to buy them presents to thank them for being in my life and always being supportive.

Do you buy presents during Christmas? What does Christmas mean to you? Do you celebrate Christmas with friends and family? What is the most popular holiday in Japan?

Merry Christmas!!

This is the Christmas tree at 30 Rockefeller Center in New York. It's a very famous tree with a year long ice skating rink outside!

Hi!
I will buy some Christmas presents for my boyfriend and my lovely dog!
In Japan, we don't celebrate Christmas as a big birthday. It is an happy winter event for us.
We have a Christmas tree in our house, too. And beautiful Christmas illuminations appear!!
I like them very much.
I think Oshougatsu is one of big events for Japanese. We send Nengajou which like massage card letter, eat Osechi, and get Otoshidama. But it is only for children.

In Japan, ther is not special meanin on X'mas. It is just a holiday for us. We eat cake and present. But I think most young people spend X'mas or X'mas eve with their girlfriend or boyfriend.
It is very important day for couple.
I make a card to my boyfriend and sent present.(He lives in AUS)
He got it today and He likes them^^

Hi! Christmas is coming soon. I'm looking forward to coming the day. In Japan, almost people don't celebtrate God. They don't know the story of Christmas. I had an Christian friend and she told me about Christmas, so I know the story. I thought that we should be thankful to God. Almost Japanese don't know the story of Christmas, so I think that they had better know that and we will be able to enjoy every day.
I will buy Christmas present for my family and boyfriend. I will also make cakes. The most popular holiday in Japan is Christmas and New Years!
